With almost no voltage drop, batteries are charged at the full voltage of the alternator allowing quicker and complete charging. FET Battery Isolators also feature a B+ power output to avoid alternator start problems. Some alternators require DC voltage to start charging. When the alternator is connected directly to the batteries this is not a problem, but when adding a battery isolator the alternator loses this DC power source. Argofet isolators have a special current limited energize input that will power the B+ when the engine run/stop switch is closed.
