Honoring martial artist, cinema icon, and Seiko 5 owner Bruce Lee

Seiko 5 Sports is pleased to introduce a collaboration honoring Bruce Lee, who wore 5 Sports during his lifetime. This anniversary model pays tribute to a man whose legacy endures through his many achievements as a martial artist, actor, and cultural icon. This watch is powered by Seiko’s own 4R36 automatic movement with 41 hours of power reserve, and a day/date complication. Its exhibition caseback bears the individual number of the piece, as well as Bruce Lee's 'yin & yang' motif.

On the dial, you'll find an engraved dragon just as Lee drew in his lifetime. The bezel represents the spirit of Jeet Kune Do with a phrase that translates to “Using no way as way; having no limitation as limitation.” The black leather strap evokes the type of clothing worn in kung fu, with the dragon design on the inside. A nylon strap in the color of the yellow tracksuit worn by Bruce Lee will also be included. The exhibition case back features the Jeet Kune Do core symbol, which is based on the yin-yang symbol. The case back is also marked with Limited Edition and the serial number.

Born in San Francisco, Bruce Lee was a film actor, martial artist, director, and teacher whose career spanned continents. He became a superstar with the smash hit The Big Boss (1971) but tragically passed away at the young age of 32 when he was filming Enter the Dragon (1973). Lee’s other films include Marlowe (1969), The Way of the Dragon (1972), and more. A multifaceted creator and martial arts expert, Lee founded Jeet Kune Do, which translates to “Way of the Intercepting Fist.” His work continues to attract fans from all over the world.
