Handle is made from stabilized wood (stabilized wood is wood impregnated with resin so it's more durable) The wood will be more resistant and will hold its shine longer. The joint between the handle and bottom metal is threaded rod. Which provides a long-lasting and almost unbreakable joint. This item should not be washed in the dishwasher. Wash with soap and dry with a towel.
